My Brewing Buddy respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the website collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have when you use My Brewing Buddy, including the recipe builder and Brew Buddy assistant.

Information We Collect
Account information. If you create an account or log in, WordPress stores the information needed to manage your account, such as your username, email address, password hash, account role, and login-related details.
Recipe information. When you use the recipe builder, My Brewing Buddy stores the recipes you create or save, including recipe names, descriptions, ingredients, measurements, notes, recipe type, and calculation-related fields. Saved recipes are associated with your user account so you can view and manage them later.
Brew Buddy assistant questions. When question logging is enabled, Brew Buddy stores the question text, the page URL where the question was asked, matched site documents, the answer mode, the number of matched documents, the date/time asked, and a broad login status such as logged out, logged in, or upgraded. The Brew Buddy question log is designed not to store IP addresses, email addresses, user IDs, or recipe details.
Generated recipe drafts. If Brew Buddy generates a recipe for you, the temporary generated recipe draft may be stored briefly so you can choose whether to save it. If you save it, the recipe is added to your recipe collection.
Contact and support information. If you contact us or submit a form, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, and any details needed to respond.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider, WordPress, security tools, and related services may process technical information such as browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, cookies, log data, and IP address. This information helps operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate My Brewing Buddy, provide user accounts, save and display recipes, run recipe calculations, respond to support requests, improve help content, protect the website from spam or abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain site security.
Assistant question logs may be reviewed to understand what users are trying to find, identify missing help topics, improve documentation, and make Brew Buddy more useful.
Brew Buddy Assistant and AI Processing
Brew Buddy may use an AI service provider to answer questions, explain brewing topics, help find pages on the site, or generate recipe suggestions. When AI is used, the assistant may send your question, recent assistant conversation context, the current page title or URL, and relevant public My Brewing Buddy page context to the AI provider.
Brew Buddy is configured to use public site context when possible. Saved recipes are searched locally when you ask to find your own recipes, and the current version is intended to avoid sending saved recipe details to the AI provider unless you type those details into the assistant yourself.
Please do not enter sensitive personal information into Brew Buddy. AI-generated brewing guidance should be reviewed before use, especially for safety, legality, allergies, equipment limits, and distillation-related topics.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
My Brewing Buddy uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for WordPress login sessions, account features, security, preferences, and site functionality. Some plugins or service providers may also use cookies or similar technologies to help operate and protect the site.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or process information with service providers that help run the website, such as web hosting, WordPress plugins, security services, email or form tools, and AI service providers used by Brew Buddy. These providers process information so they can provide services to My Brewing Buddy.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the security or integrity of the website, to prevent abuse, or to protect the rights and safety of My Brewing Buddy and its users.
Data Retention
Account information and saved recipes are retained while your account remains active or as needed to provide the website. Contact messages may be retained as needed for support and recordkeeping. Brew Buddy question logs may be retained for content planning, troubleshooting, and improvement unless deleted during normal maintenance or in response to an applicable request.
Your Choices
You can choose not to create an account, not to save recipes, or not to use Brew Buddy. If you have an account, you may update certain account information through your account page. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, subject to legal, security, and operational limits.
Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. My Brewing Buddy does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect login, recipe builder, or account functionality.
Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the website and user information. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
My Brewing Buddy is intended for users who are old enough to legally participate in homebrewing or related hobby activities in their location. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International and State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, such as the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, correct certain information, or opt out of certain types of sharing.
